All three programs are built on the same Hip Hop framework and delivered by CultureShockNGO's professional industry educators. Each program is customizable in duration and structure to meet the needs of your organization.

HIP HOP DANCE PROGRAM

Our cornerstone program. This is where it all starts. Using the five elements of Hip Hop as tools for creative expression, cultural appreciation, and personal growth.
ALL youth in this program gain:

Foundation in Hip Hop movement, choreography, and culture
Confidence and discipline through structured creative practice
Community and consistency
Performance experience

GIRL EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

Young women today are bombarded with messages about who they should be — how to look, how to act, how much space they are allowed to take up. This program pushes back on all of that.

Through the core elements of Hip Hop, girls build a real relationship with their own bodies, their voices, and their power — on their own terms.
Female identifying youth in this program gain:

Comfort in their own bodies and identity
Confidence and self expression through movement, art, music, and other activities
A supportive community of peers and mentors
Tools to take charge of their space and story

BOY ENLIGHTENMENT PROGRAM

Too many boys today are feeling the weight of a world that is not giving them the tools they need — disconnected, without community, and without real outlets to express themselves.

This program meets them where they are. Through Hip Hop's elements, boys find a space to be challenged, to create, to belong, and to express themselves with confidence and authenticity.

Male-identifying youth in this program gain:

Brotherhood - a real sense of community and belonging
Outlets to express themselves honestly and with confidence
Tools to navigate the world with intention, identity, and respect
A cultural framework that sees them and speaks to them

THE BIGGER PICTURE

WHEN THE PROGRAMS COME TOGETHER.

At key points throughout the term, the Girls and Boys programs converge. Sometimes to take on a shared challenge or other times for one group to lead a workshop for the other.

The goal is to help young people practice something that most adults still find hard; navigating relationships with each other - regardless of differences, gender, experiences - all with confidence, curiosity and respect.
